Racism A Contagious Virus - 1130 Words

Introduction Racism is a man made illness that has spread upon humans worldwide and to this day, Racism is currently still a contagious virus. Racism is mans gravest threat to man, the maximum of hatred for a minimum of reason. The idea of race and superiority has caused major social and economic damage globally; with a fire still burning of hate and ignorance will we ever see a conclusion and closure of hate of our fellow man. In my response paper I will highlight readings that have expanded on the idea of race, racism, enslavement and endearment of the African people. Scientific Racism In this reading the uprising of racism is explained and focuses on how the white Europeans labeled those of the non-white race to be inferior. During the 1800’s scientism was an influential and important theme in the lives of those who were considered intellectuals. The idea and concepts of race were merely theories developed by European and American intellects, which included men whom held occupations in medicine, science, zoology, and psychology. A man by the name of Arthur de Gobineau was said to be the founding father of racism. He accumulated a set of theories which he explains and categorizes whites, blacks and Asians. He expresses the white race as superior and gives a number of high quality traits that the white men possess, while in contrast he defines blacks as inferior and unstable whom also have little to no positive qualities or strengths as a people. Policy of Neutrality and the United States of America Free Essays

In 1792, the European struggle began which started when the French Revolution concluded with the Napoleonic Wars. During the same year, the American government first noticed that a state of war subsisted when Thomas Jefferson, then the American Secretary of State, received a message from the French Minister at Philadelphia. In reply to the notification, Jefferson assured that the United States will remain forthcoming to France â€Å"and render all those good offices which shall be consistent with the duties of a neutral nation. We will write a custom essay sample on Policy of Neutrality and the United States of America or any similar topic only for you Order Now †(Hyneman) During that time, President Washington was art Mount Vernon, this statement from the Secretary of State seemed to be the only direct acknowledgement by the government; thus, the United States was placed in an arrangement of a neutral state. Alongside the implementation of the policy, there were various acts and bills that were made and ratified to effectively compromise with the current state of the nation. Amongst the bill, acts, treaties that were made during that time were the Non-Intercourse Act, Macon’s Bill No.2, Pickney’s Treaty, Treaty of 1778 and the Convention of 1800 (Brodeur). For most of the treaties and acts that were made, it became ineffective and unimportant for most of its existence. The Neutrality Policy fulfilled the idealistic objectives of the nation but it did not fulfill the realistic objectives of the country. The United States did not want to partake in the European War and they were successful in doing so by agreeing with France; however, the acts and bills that were signed to further protect themselves from war caused them futile or even more losses. Marketing and Strategy Lush Company

Question: Discuss about theMarketing and Strategyfor Lush Company. Answer: Introduction Lush Company deals with fresh handmade cosmetics and includes the pricing policies based on the mission statement of the company. The company decides to introduce new products into the market for the Christmas festival. It introduces the autumn leaf bath bomb that increases the customer satisfaction. Discussion While launching the new product in the market, Lush Company implemented certain pricing strategies that helped them to increase the sales and gain more profit. The company takes the help of the price skimming strategy and sells the product to the customers at a higher price. In the opinion of Yan and Ke (2015), the skimming strategy is helpful in reaching the breakeven with lower number of sales. The customers of Lush consider that higher the price of the product, the higher is the quality. Therefore, setting the price at a higher price allows the company to establish a satisfaction within the customers. As per the information achieved from the companys website, it can be inferred that the company to promote the new product uses no promotion or loyalty program since according to them the product price is set at fair price ('Lush' Lushusa.com, 2016). However, Hollensen (2015) argued that to build a strong relation between the company and its potential customers, a loyalty card is needed to be created. Conclusion The pricing strategy that the company uses is based on the psychology of the customers. However, launching a new product in the market becomes more effective when the company uses the price penetration strategy and sells its products at a comparative lower price. The strategy helps the company to attract a number of customers to purchase the new product. References Hollensen, S., 2015.Marketing management: A relationship approach. Pearson Education.
